Just happened across these in the parking lot of the corporate headquarters where I work. I didn't even know we had these kind of mushrooms in Oregon.

Art from the Arctic from Snag Films

If you are interested in the art of Andy Goldsworthy then you might be interested in the art created in this film. It's worth watching just for the amazing scenery. They also deal with the issue of global warming and the creator of the film was trying to expose artists to the reality of global warming, thinking that it would inform their art, and then through their art, inform the world. It's a little slow at times, but I found it really interesting. I don't think I'd want to take them up on the offer of creating art in the Arctic, because it looks sooooo cold. But it is beautiful.

Just watched a film "In the Realms of the Unreal" on Netflix, and was blown away by it. It's a story of a reclusive man, Henry Darger, who had a horrible childhood and grew up virtually without any friends. By day he was a janitor, but at home, in his little Chicago apartment, he drew these fantastic drawings and wrote a long novel about seven sisters named "The Vivian Girls". It's a fascinating movie and his drawings were charming. Right now it's a movie available to watch on the Netflix website so check it out if you get a chance.
